In-line silencers

STOPSON Italiana in-line silencers are designed for the reduction of noise generated by control valves and compressors in pressurized lines. Custom-made, they require deep engineering expertise and rigorous quality processes to ensure high performance and operational safety.

Our silencers are flanged upstream and downstream for easy integration into systems. An increase in diameter is often necessary to keep the internal flow velocity under control. The correct internal sizing is based on the accurate calculation of the real density of the fluid under pressure, preventing the detachment of the absorbent materials in the flow.

Thanks to special materials and techniques to protect the sound-absorbing material from direct flow, the silencers maintain high acoustic performance even in high-pressure environments. This allows for higher speeds than those normally handled by conventional materials.

When the noise source is a control valve, the in-line silencer must be installed immediately downstream, to absorb the sound energy at the point of generation.
