Testing/testing facilities

Acoustic rooms and chambers for testing industrial equipment and aircraft engines, semi-anechoic and anechoic chambers, control rooms. A solution for any sound control need in the R phase of industrial production.

Anechoic and semi-anechoic chambers

The need to produce machinery and components with controlled, declared and certified sound levels makes it essential that an increasing number of companies have a controlled acoustic environment on which to carry out measurements. The characteristics required for these specific uses do not justify the investments necessary for classic masonry rooms, but they will be considered suitable solutions, according to industrial requirements, to better adapt to the development of the system and flexibility.

Semi-anechoic chambers typically have a cut-off frequency of 125 Hz and, depending on the use of these rooms, may have the following characteristics:

  • Appropriate interior lighting
  • Exhaust gas extraction systems
  • Independent ventilation and cooling
  • Air conditioned intake/exhaust
  • Easy access to tested devices
  • Safety glass for visual inspection during the test
  • Long-lasting acoustic protective material

STOPSON offers a set of prefabricated anechoic or semi-anechoic chambers, internally treated with standard wedges sized according to the lowest operating frequency, possibly equipped with a control room. This ensures work areas at a sufficiently low sound pressure level, limited reverberation and therefore areas of real functionality to ensure accurate acoustic performance.

Engine Test Cells

Engine Noise Test Cells (ENTCs) are typically environments for testing an engine exclusively.

The ENTCs feature a coupled exhaust extraction system, independent ventilation and cooling, installation of an air intake for conditioned intake, and the ability to house both an AC motor and a DC dynamometer.

STOPSON can provide a complete acoustic solution for engine acoustic test systems.

Whether the request is for an acoustic package only, including acoustic doors, anechoic windows and wedges, or a turnkey solution, Stopson is unmatched in solution capability.

A turnkey service is available for all ventilation, exhaust extraction and lighting systems of all Stopson ENTCs with the utmost peace of mind of having a single supplier responsible for the acoustic performance of the chamber.

Automotive Test Facilities

STOPSON can offer a number of different chambers suitable for the needs of the automotive industry. Below is a list of other services available:

  • Vehicle test bench with complete wheel dynamometer with or without vehicle speed simulation
  • Engine test bench with its own dynamometer system

Proper management of the ventilation pressure drop calculation is required to provide adequate environmental conditions within the test cell in terms of pressure
